For the past two weeks Covenant Messenger Ministries was blessed beyond measure as being a small part of helping Rev. Sikila Cornelius feed many of the people who are suffering during this time of lock-down in India. The majority of the people were Dalits, or untouchables, who rely on daily wages at menial labor to feed themselves and their families. Especially hurt during this time are the widows who have no one to help them except family members or through the kindness of others.
Rev. Cornelius informed us there were hundreds of pastors who, because of the lock-down, are not receiving tithes and offerings but still must support their families. Some have gone without food for many days. We were blessed again as God provided funds to allow Rev. Cornelius to purchase rice, oil, eggs and vegetables to help feed them in this very time. See the photos below of the many people receiving gifts of food.
We sincerely thank you for keeping them all in your prayers.
The Government of India has just announced the lock-down will probably continue through the end of May. Please consider a gift, even if small, to help feed the poor.
