India – School Supplies Provided for 172 Children!

Thanks to the generosity and compassion of others, we were able to give Rev. Cornelius in India funds to purchase school supplies for 172 children.   The children are Dalits and about half of them are orphans living at Grace Children's Home. Below are photos of the supplies and Rev. Cornelius and wife, Theresa, giving out the materials to some very happy children.   Many thanks to those who contributed to this cause.                                 ...

Feeding The Hungry In India – June 17, 2020

The Covid-19 virus is spreading in India and especially in the area around Grace Children's Home.   Reverend Cornelius reports that conditions are getting worse by the day.  So many people are without food.  We were blessed recently to be able to send $150 to Rev. Cornelius to purchase food for the Children's Home and help others as much as possible.   Besides feeding the children at the home, Cornelius said there were funds left over so he was also able to give loaves of bread to 100 Dalit children.   Below are photos showing how blessed everyone was to receive food.  One widow ...

Helping to Feed the Hungry in India – May 2020

Rev. Dinesh and his son, Raj (Not their real names because of persecution of Christians in their area) continue to be very active in evangelizing, praying for the sick and feeding the hungry in their part of India.  We are very blessed to be able to be a small part in their ministry by supporting them each month.  We are amazed at elderly Reverend Dinesh who at his late age, thinks nothing of walking many miles to evangelize the lost.   Accompanied by his son, Raj, and led by the Holy Spirit, they minister to hundreds of people without a vehicle, ...

Feeding The Children – India – May 18, 2020

On May 18, 2020 Reverend Sikila Cornelius was able to visit a remote village where people are suffering from the Covid-19 lockdown and unable to work.  Food is very scarce so Rev. Cornelius took enough bread and snacks with him to bless 80 children.   In the photos below you can see the faces of the children who all seem to be a bit amazed or bewildered, at such a blessing. "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."  James 1:27   ...

Feeding The Hungry – May 11, 2020

We were blessed to receive word from Rev. Cornelius in India that through the funds given to him by this ministry, he was able to share it with a fellow pastor who purchased food and took it to the slums to feed the hungry.   As you can see by the photos, most of those being fed are children.  Thank you so very much for giving!   Matthew 25:40 says, " . . . . Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." And ...

Feeding The Hungry Of India – May 6, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown continues in India the people who live in remote villages are suffering to the point of starvation.  Sadly, some have been reduced to even eating ants.   One woman told Rev. Cornelius that her daughter was hungry and crying so she was cooking stones just to make her daughter think she was cooking something to eat.   It just shows how desperate these people are. Rev. Cornelius and volunteers traveled to one of those villages inhabited by Dalits who are unable to work and through the offerings given to this ministry, they were able to hand out ...

Feeding the Hungry – May 4, 2020

Because of the COVID-19 Virus the situation in India has not improved and many are starving and crying out for help.   We are doing what we can through the offerings given to this ministry to feed as many as possible.   Below are photos recently sent to us of volunteers who have bagged food and giving it to the poor who are mostly Dalits, or untouchables.    Please consider giving at least a little bit.  Just forty cents can provide food for one day for one person.             ...

Bananas and Bread for the Hungry – April 26, 2020

What will 39 cents do?   A lot, in India that is.   Thanks to the offerings received by Covenant Messenger Ministries to feed the hungry, 150 children and 50 widows were recently blessed during the ongoing lock-down in India. Each person received 2 bananas and a small loaf of bread at the cost of 30 rupees (39 cents) per person.  Believe it or not, these items were rare treats for these people. The children are either orphans or from parents who cannot afford to feed their families and of course, the widows depend on family and charity for their existence. We ...

Many Pastors Are Blessed With Food – April 24 2020

Even in good times the life of pastor is a life of making sacrifices in various ways but when unable to hold church services it becomes unbearably difficult for some.  Such is the present day life of the pastors in India.  They all depend on tithes and offerings to feed their families and when income is cut off the only solution is to pray, hope and wait.   Recently we were informed by Rev. Cornelius that many pastors were unable to provide for their families and were crying out to God for help.  Well, God heard their prayers and yesterday that ...

Feeding The Poor – April 10 – 18, 2020

For the past two weeks Covenant Messenger Ministries was blessed beyond measure as being a small part of helping Rev. Sikila Cornelius feed many of the people who are suffering during this time of lock-down in India.   The majority of the people were Dalits, or untouchables, who rely on daily wages at menial labor to feed themselves and their families.  Especially hurt during this time are the widows who have no one to help them except family members or  through the kindness of others.   Rev. Cornelius informed us there were hundreds of pastors who, because of the lock-down, are not ...

Helping The Poor Of India – April 10, 2020

What will a little money do? I've been asking that question myself but first, the meaning of the word, "little", must be established. A "little" money to me would be less than $5. To one of the richest men in the world such as Warren Buffet, a "little" money may mean less than $10,000. So, let's bring the meaning down to the level that I believe the average person would understand and ask the question like this: "What would $5 do in the world today?" I looked up the price of Starbucks coffee and found that $5 or less will ...

Helping To Feed 100 Hungry Truckers

Dear Friends of CMM, As you are very much aware, the whole world is in a terrible situation and it doesn't look like it will improve very soon.  I'm reminded of the many trials the Children of Israel suffered because they had forsaken the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.   Time after time Israel would repent and God would save them from destruction but it wasn't long before they were chasing after other gods again.   In ancient times it peaked with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple of Solomon.  In more modern times it peaked with the murder of ...

Feeding The Hungry In India

April 2, 2020 We are so blessed to have been able to help purchase food to feed the children of Grace Children's Home and the poor people of India, in particular the Dalits, or "untouchables".  An appeal for offerings was posted on Facebook and within a day or two enough offerings came in to enable us to wire money directly to Rev. Cornelius, a Dalit pastor.  (By the way, it took exactly 24 seconds for the money to travel from our bank to their bank in India and it cost us a little over $2 to send it.   If anyone ...

Support-A-Child – Grace Children’s Home

Covenant Messenger Ministries is teaming up with Rev. Sikila Cornelius and his Grace Children's Home in India.  Although there are about 100 children in some of the group photos, there are approximately 38 of the children now living at the home and they are in need of sponsors to help feed and clothe them.   The other children come from various homes to take part in Bible study and to be fed in the afternoons. The Home has not had support for about two years and they are desperate for assistance to maintain the daily needs for the children living there.  ...

Baptisms of Former Idol Worshipers – February 16, 2020

In the latest report from Rev. Cornelius in India, he states that 19 former idol worshipers who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior were baptized on February 16, 2020.  Below is his report and photos. Greetings to you. Here are the pictures of water baptism again this morning. I went near the sea with one of our pastors and three villagers who are ready to take water baptism. Today I baptized 19 new converts. They were all very strong idol worshipers and they lived very sinful life in the world. But the word of God and Jesus Christ touched ...

Twenty-one New Converts Baptized in India – Feb. 11, 2020

Rev. Cornelius continues to keep busy evangelizing and baptizing new converts.   He reports that 21 former Hindus were baptized as Christians on February 11, 2020.  He also stated that evangelism in India is very difficult because of obstacles by the government and Hindu religion.   But it's obvious by the success of his ministry that he has God's protecting Hand keeping him safe as he goes about sharing the Gospel.   Rev. Cornelius is asking for prayers for the new converts and that Bibles can be purchased so they can grow in the Lord.   Below are photos of the recent baptisms.    ...

Former Idol Worshipers Accept Jesus and Are Baptized! Feb. 7, 2020

We received a wonderful report from Rev. Cornelius in India this morning.  The converts were all Dalits.   As I have explained before, the Dalits are a class of people considered beneath the rest of humanity by some in India.  These Dalits were idol worshipers but have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  They are now saying that Jesus is the only way to Heaven! Rev. Cornelius has expressed a desperate need for more financial assistance to purchase Bibles, Gospel tracts, but especially for the orphanage that was founded by Rev. Cornelius.   It takes approximately $500 per month to feed ...

Evangelizing The Lost In India

As the new year begins let's all give thanks for the blessings we have been given by our Lord.  In India and other places around the world life is not as easy as we have it in the U.S.    When we want a drink of water we turn on the faucet and pour it into a glass without thinking about it.   In India and other places water is drawn from a well, lake, river or creek.  When we build a new home or other structure most will hire a construction company to do it and we don't have to ...

Rev. Cornelius in India Baptizes Many Converts

We just received photos of the baptism of many new converts from Rev. Cornelius.    All of these people in the photos are Dalits, the "untouchables" according the the Caste system that is still practiced in most of India.    However, there is no Caste system in the Kingdom of God.  2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."          ...
