Helping To Feed 100 Hungry Truckers

Dear Friends of CMM, As you are very much aware, the whole world is in a terrible situation and it doesn't look like it will improve very soon.  I'm reminded of the many trials the Children of Israel suffered because they had forsaken the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.   Time after time Israel would repent and God would save them from destruction but it wasn't long before they were chasing after other gods again.   In ancient times it peaked with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple of Solomon.  In more modern times it peaked with the murder of ...

Feeding The Hungry In India

April 2, 2020 We are so blessed to have been able to help purchase food to feed the children of Grace Children's Home and the poor people of India, in particular the Dalits, or "untouchables".  An appeal for offerings was posted on Facebook and within a day or two enough offerings came in to enable us to wire money directly to Rev. Cornelius, a Dalit pastor.  (By the way, it took exactly 24 seconds for the money to travel from our bank to their bank in India and it cost us a little over $2 to send it.   If anyone ...

Support-A-Child – Grace Children’s Home

Covenant Messenger Ministries is teaming up with Rev. Sikila Cornelius and his Grace Children's Home in India.  Although there are about 100 children in some of the group photos, there are approximately 38 of the children now living at the home and they are in need of sponsors to help feed and clothe them.   The other children come from various homes to take part in Bible study and to be fed in the afternoons. The Home has not had support for about two years and they are desperate for assistance to maintain the daily needs for the children living there.  ...

Baptisms of Former Idol Worshipers – February 16, 2020

In the latest report from Rev. Cornelius in India, he states that 19 former idol worshipers who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior were baptized on February 16, 2020.  Below is his report and photos. Greetings to you. Here are the pictures of water baptism again this morning. I went near the sea with one of our pastors and three villagers who are ready to take water baptism. Today I baptized 19 new converts. They were all very strong idol worshipers and they lived very sinful life in the world. But the word of God and Jesus Christ touched ...

Twenty-one New Converts Baptized in India – Feb. 11, 2020

Rev. Cornelius continues to keep busy evangelizing and baptizing new converts.   He reports that 21 former Hindus were baptized as Christians on February 11, 2020.  He also stated that evangelism in India is very difficult because of obstacles by the government and Hindu religion.   But it's obvious by the success of his ministry that he has God's protecting Hand keeping him safe as he goes about sharing the Gospel.   Rev. Cornelius is asking for prayers for the new converts and that Bibles can be purchased so they can grow in the Lord.   Below are photos of the recent baptisms.    ...

Former Idol Worshipers Accept Jesus and Are Baptized! Feb. 7, 2020

We received a wonderful report from Rev. Cornelius in India this morning.  The converts were all Dalits.   As I have explained before, the Dalits are a class of people considered beneath the rest of humanity by some in India.  These Dalits were idol worshipers but have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  They are now saying that Jesus is the only way to Heaven! Rev. Cornelius has expressed a desperate need for more financial assistance to purchase Bibles, Gospel tracts, but especially for the orphanage that was founded by Rev. Cornelius.   It takes approximately $500 per month to feed ...

Evangelizing The Lost In India

As the new year begins let's all give thanks for the blessings we have been given by our Lord.  In India and other places around the world life is not as easy as we have it in the U.S.    When we want a drink of water we turn on the faucet and pour it into a glass without thinking about it.   In India and other places water is drawn from a well, lake, river or creek.  When we build a new home or other structure most will hire a construction company to do it and we don't have to ...

Rev. Cornelius in India Baptizes Many Converts

We just received photos of the baptism of many new converts from Rev. Cornelius.    All of these people in the photos are Dalits, the "untouchables" according the the Caste system that is still practiced in most of India.    However, there is no Caste system in the Kingdom of God.  2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."          ...

A Tribute To Kumar

In January, 2020, we received word from India about a young handicapped man who received his very first Bible as a gift. His name is Kumar and he lived with his mother. In the photos you see Kumar receiving his Bible and then proudly hugging it as the photo was taken. When I saw this photo my heart went out to him. A few days later we also received word the body of Kumar had been found floating in a river. We don't know what happened except that being handicapped he probably could not swim and may have fallen in ...

Good Reports From India

We had two good messages via Facebook this morning.  One was from Sikala Cornelius and the other was from Brother Raj who ministers with his father. Rev. Cornelius traveled 150 miles to a very remote village to reach the lost.   As his motorbike has quit working he hired a motor scooter taxi which cost him $28.  He reports that he is in desperate need of transportation, preferably a new motor scooter and that would give good transportation at a very low cost of gasoline.   With a motor scooter of his own the same trip would have cost him just $7 ...

A Testimony: Healed of HIV, Hindu Accepts Jesus As Savior

From India comes two great testimonies.  One will be shared here and the other on another post.    Names are being withheld, except the Name of all Names, Jesus Christ.    Two scriptures pertaining to this testimony are: Matthew 9:35, "Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Now here is the first testimony: I am age 37 years and I work in a Life insurance Corporation as a Clerk.  ...

Orphanage Receives Christmas Gifts – Dec. 2019

Through gifts given to the orphanage, founder Rev. Sikila Cornelius was able to purchase Christmas gifts for each child.   The orphanage is home to 37 children who must be cared for with food, clothing and other necessities.   As Christmas comes around each year it is a real challenge for the orphanage to be able to provide gifts to the children.  This year was exceptional as enough offerings were received to not only feed and clothe the children but also buy gifts for each one.    See the smiling faces as each child received their gifts.    Please consider giving on ...

Celebrating Christmas In India – 2019

This December Pastor Sikila Cornelius and his wife, Theresa, visited churches of the underprivileged Dalits.  Many are elderly who suffer from the cold winter climate.  Pastor Cornelius purchased several blankets and celebrated Christmas by giving the blankets to those in need.    Some accepted Jesus and were later baptized.  As usual, Pastor Cornelius fed as many as possible with rice and curry.  For some of them, it will be the only meal for that day.  See photos below:    ...

Building A Church & Going For Water in India

We were recently sent photos from Pastor Cornelius of workers building a church in a Dalit village.   As you can see, it is a rather crude structure.  No electricity, no running water, no air conditioner, etc., etc., but the Glory of God is just as much present in this church as it is in any majestic cathedral with gold trimmings.  Probably even more so.  Other photos depict women going for water, sometimes walking great distances and carrying the load on their shoulders or head.   There is a great need for wells, especially in the extremely poor Dalit villages.   The cost ...

India Calling

In our support of men and women of God who daily work towards helping the poor and needy, who willingly share the Gospel and bring others into the Kingdom of Heaven, we are committed to helping as much as we are able, and we call for others who feel as we do, that laying up treasures in Heaven is thousands of times better than laying up material wealth on earth, to respond with prayer but financial help too. There are many needs, but specific ones were given to us, in particular, by Rev. Cornelius, founder of Grace Children’s Home in ...

Pastor Cornelius Baptizing Converts

On November 27, 2019, Pastor Sikala Cornelius traveled on a motorbike to a very remote village of Dalit people and shared the Gospel.   As stated in a previous report, Dalits are the lowest of the caste system of India.  But as Pastor Cornelius, a Dalit himself, once stated, "There is no caste system in the Kingdom of God". Numerous people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  In the photos below you see Pastor Cornelius leading a group of converts to a river where he baptizes them.  Pastor Cornelius says the people need Bibles to grow in the Lord.  ...
