Feeding The Homeless Dalits – August, 2021

Because of your generosity, this ministry was financially able to assist Rev. Cornelius and volunteers  in feeding 40 people who live in the slums.  These people are Dalits, the lowest in the caste system, a system which was supposedly outlawed several years ago but still exists in many places in India.  The Bible is very clear that we feed the poor.  Many thanks to those who sacrificed in their giving.  He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.  Proverbs 22:9 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy ...

Feeding the Homeless in India – July 2021

India is still a developing nation and although its economy is growing, it has around 84 million people living in extreme poverty. When they are able, Rev. Cornelius and a few volunteers go to the streets to provide food for the homeless Dalits, the "untouchable class" in India.  On this occasion they prepared plates containing rice, curry, a hard-boiled egg, banana, and a bag of water for each of the homeless people they encountered on the streets.  We thank those of you who have given so generously for this cause.    Proverbs 19:17, "He who has pity on the poor ...

Evangelizing In India – July 2021

Rev. Cornelius and volunteers are keeping busy these days fulfilling the Great Commission by evangelizing the lost and feeding the hungry in their homeland of India.  India has always had more than its share of homeless and hungry people but in this pandemic which is still taking lives, the number of people needing support has increased dramatically.   Much prayer is needed for India during these difficult times. Below are photos of an assistant to Rev. Cornelius appropriately named "Moses" and his wife, Mary, as they share tracts and the Gospel with people of one village.  In the process, 23 people ...

Rice for Pastors in India – June 2021

In June about 50 pastors in India were helped by providing each of them with a 22 lb. bag of rice.  The pastors have been struggling to support their families but because of the pandemic, they are not able to conduct regular church services and consequently, are not receiving tithes and wages.   Our many thanks to one anonymous individual in particular who was led to give towards this need.  Because of this one offering, prayers were answered and many people were blessed.   Distribution of the rice was done over the period of two days as most of the pastors ...

Feeding the Hungry On A Street In India – May 2021

In May, 2021, Rev. Cornelius and volunteers took cooked rice to a street and fed the hungry.  Most of them were mothers with children and also widows who have no support.  As the pot of rice came close to being empty, several children clamored around the man begging for some food.  As you can see in the video, they were truly hungry.    Covenant Messenger Ministries is very blessed to be able to support Rev. Cornelius, his orphanage and many other projects such as wells for water, teaching women to sew, feeding the hungry, and most of all, evangelizing the ...

Smiling Faces

Although conditions for the poor in the streets are bleak, the children and widows of Grace Children's Home are blessed with food.   As you can see in many of the photos, the smiling faces reflect the joy of being able to wake up each morning knowing there will be food for the day.  Of course, there are days without food so those are days of fasting and praying for God's provision.   Thanks to you, there were smiles on their faces on this particular day in May!   God bless you for considering the poor, the orphans, the homeless, and the widows ...

Feeding the Hungry on the Streets of India

The youth of Pastor Cornelius's church in India recently went to the streets to pass out 250 packets of food to the poor.   Thousands are dying of covid.  Even if they could afford a doctor there are no beds available in the hospitals.   Many are unable to earn a wage because of a 20 hour lockdown so they go hungry.    It costs 50 Indian rupees, about 68 cents, for one packet of food that feed one person for a whole day.  Please consider giving something to help feed the poor in India.    Just $5 will feed 7 people.  ...

600 Eggs Distributed to the Poor.

Today, May 3, 2021, Rev. Cornelius blessed several children with protein in the form of eggs.  We take eggs for granted in America but to the poor in India, the Dalits, eggs are a blessing and a rarity.   Thanks to those who have a burden on their hearts for the poor, we were able to pass  enough money to Rev. Cornelius to purchase 600 eggs.  They were bagged six to a bag.  That is one egg per day for a week for each child.    Were they appreciated?  Just look at the smiles on their faces. Thanks to all who ...

April Blessings for Grace Children’s Home – India 2021

It is always a blessing to receive photos from Rev. Cornelius in India.   This time we received photos of the children of Grace Children's Home.   It was a great time for everyone including the children, the staff, and some widows who rely on the Home for food.   We were able to send a little extra support money to the home which permitted Rev. Cornelius to purchase soft drinks for the children.  You can see the smiles on their faces.   Rev. Cornelius has a great heart for the children and also for people in general. I am always impressed seeing the ...

Outreach to Jaipur in Odisha State, India – March 29, 2021

(Below is the report from Rev. Sikila Cornelius) Dear sirs, On March 29, 2021, I traveled with my outreach team to Jaipur in Odisha State. It was difficult getting there. It took nearly 6 hours as it is a jungle area, and the roads are not good. We stayed in the village where there was no electricity, no water, no washrooms, and no transportation. While there I trained 40 people including pastors and the young people who are willing to serve.  I trained them how to plant churches, how to evangelize, and all of them were blessed.  The need is ...

Feeding Children of the Poor in India – 2021

In March of 2021 the director of Grace Children's Home and a few volunteers were able to visit villages outside of the orphanage and by the Grace of God they were able to give meals of rice and curry to hungry Dalit children.   This was a rare occasion because funds are mostly used to feed the children of the orphanage.   But there was a little extra this time so it was put to good use.   The kids in the video get a little excited and it's evident by the chatter.  Thank you for your giving to this ministry so we ...

Evangelism in India and Children Celebrating Int’l Women’s Day – March 2021

Rev. Sikila Cornelius and other pastors regularly evangelize villages of poor Dalit, a people of the lower class in India.   The pastors use the "Jesus Film" to effectively share the Gospel and also travel in teams to villages with megaphones to preach the Word of God.  In the various videos sent to us hardly any one is seen gathering around to listen but even if the people remain secluded in their homes, the power of the megaphone is hard to dismiss.   Some photos show village women responding to Rev. Cornelius as he shares the Gospel and other photos show people ...

Pastors Evangelize a Remote Village in India

On February 11, 2021 Rev. Cornelius and other pastors hired a TukTuk (Rickshaw) and traveled to a remote village to share the Gospel.   It was reported no one had ever visited to share the Good News of Jesus Christ before so this was a first.   The evangelists passed out 40 Gospel tracts and preached the Gospel to 90 people.  There was no word received of any salvations but by the photos the message was well received.  It is certain that if funds are provided to make a return trip, the evangelists will revisit the village and prayerfully, witness many salvations.   ...

Mountain Tribal Outreach In India – January 11, 2021

(A note from Val:  When all is said and done in this world only one thing that will stand for all of eternity is the answer to the question, "Do you know Jesus as Savior?".   Your voting preference will not matter, nor will the balance in your checkbook, the home you own, or the car you drive.  The number of friends you have will not matter and whether you have a close relationship with your pastor or priest will be lost in time.   The most important answer to the question asked above is, "Yes! I know Him!".   The report you ...
