From Rev. Cornelius in India: Widows Receive Bread, Dalits Receive Jesus – From Pastor Raj, 37 People Saved!

Reports are coming in daily from Pastor Sikala Cornelius in one part of India and also from Pastor Raj and his father, Rev. Dinesh, in another part of India.   Pastor Cornelius reports that he was able to bless several widows with loaves of bread.  As he explains, in India many of the widows are rejected by their families and put out of home to survive on their own.  They have very few people to help with shelter, food, and clothing.   You can imagine how much of a blessing it was to receive free loaves of bread.   Pastor Cornelius and others ...

An appeal for the Dalits, the oppressed, downtrodden and crushed ones of India

Although 3000 years old, the caste system in India is still in existence today but in milder forms.  The four primary castes are Brahmin, the priests; Kshatriya, warriors and nobility; Vaisya, farmers, traders and artisans; and Shudra, tenant farmers, and servants.  Some people were born outside of (and below) the caste system.  They are called “untouchables” or Dalits—”the oppressed, downtrodden, crushed ones.” Like lepers in the Old Testament, the life of a Dalit was and in parts of India still is, very difficult to say the least.  In the past a Dalit was considered unclean and was not permitted to ...

Evangelism in India – October 2019

We recently announced that Covenant Messenger Ministries has been led of the Lord to support a young man and his father in India.   As we said before, their names and exact location are being withheld from these reports for their safety.  Persecution of Christians in India is growing.   The controlling government is Hindu, which complicates matters even more.   In view of this and in order to identify ones we are talking about in the reports, I’m giving the son the name of Raj and the father, Rev. Dinesh.  Almost every day we receive a report from Raj and his father ...

India is Hungry . . . . For God

Announcement!

We are excited about finding a brother-in-the-Lord in India who is fulfilling the Great Commission, working alongside his father, a pastor.   It’s unfortunate, but we cannot give their names or location in India where they are working as the government there is Hindu and frowns on support of Christian ministries.    Money transfer agencies such as Moneygram, Xoom, etc., will not accept transfers in support of Christians in India.  We tried several agencies but every one of them refused to transfer our support from the U.S. to India.   By the grace of God we finally found one that was willing ...

Through a Christian friend in India, Covenant Messenger Ministries has for years been supportive of several Pastors of small churches in his part of India.   The Christian friend’s name is Kiran Babu, a student at a university who is studying law and has hopes of earning a degree to become a lawyer, specializing in representing Christian laypeople and Pastors. Most of the population of India practice Hinduism while 14.2% adheres to Islam.  Christianity is the 3rd largest religion and has to endure much persecution by the other two religions.    Up until a couple of years ago the area in which Kiran and ...

Kiran Hosted A Pastor’s Meeting – March 26, 2018

We are very glad to be a part of the ministry of Kiran Babu in India.   For many years Kiran and his family have supported Christian Pastors in surrounding areas of their home.   On the 26th of every month, Kiran’s family hosts a luncheon and prayer meeting at their home for several Pastors.   The Pastors are fed physically, financially, and spiritually as well.   Please keep them all in prayer as it is very difficult for them to evangelize in a nation that is about 80% Hindu and also hostile to Christians.   Here are photos of the meeting.    Above: Gathered for prayer  ...

Aug Food Dist 2017 – Village – Gollavani Tippa Road, Prakash Nagar Report

In August, 2017, Pastor Poul with Pastor Sagar and Mr. Ramesh, went to the village at Gollavani Tippa Road, Prakash Nagar in India. Usually, Pastor Poul goes to this area weekly to conduct prayer meetings but this time was different. This time the three men of God went to the village to distribute milk and eggs and vitamins to the children of the poor. Besides salvation, the main concern of the men who are ministering is malnutrition among the children. Another concern is the water they have to drink. Many illnesses occur with contaminated drinking water and this area is ...
