Mountain Tribal Outreach In India – January 11, 2021

(A note from Val:  When all is said and done in this world only one thing that will stand for all of eternity is the answer to the question, "Do you know Jesus as Savior?".   Your voting preference will not matter, nor will the balance in your checkbook, the home you own, or the car you drive.  The number of friends you have will not matter and whether you have a close relationship with your pastor or priest will be lost in time.   The most important answer to the question asked above is, "Yes! I know Him!".   The report you ...

Celebrating Christmas – Grace Children’s Home in India – December 20, 2020

Thanks to the love and faithfulness of a few supporters of the ministry we were able to relay support to Rev. Sikila Cornelius, founder of Grace Children's Home in India.  On December 20, 2020 a great celebration of our Lord's birth took place with over 800 attending and sharing in a meal.   Children, widows and pastors received gifts of clothing, etc., during the celebration. Photos below do not need much explanation as the smiles on their faces says it all.   They were blessed and we give God all the glory for it. Many thanks to those of you who gave ...

Converts Are Baptized and The Hungry Are Fed – Nov. 2020

We just received photos of two events that took place through the ministry of Pastor Cornelius.  One event was the baptismal service for new converts to Christianity.   The next event was taking bags of food to the hungry.  Many thanks to those who contribute to Pastor Cornelius' ministry through Covenant Messenger Ministry.   "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you ...

Having Church On A Rock

Despite the pandemic, food shortages, loss of income because of lockdown, etc., the Church of Jesus Christ is growing around the world.   The Holy Spirit is working continually to bring people to Jesus by the testimonies, preaching, and evangelism of common people.   When two or more gather they worship and learn more about our Lord.  Some are blessed to have a church with comfortable pews, heating and air conditioning, and some even serve coffee and snacks.   There are other areas of the world where the same Holy Spirit reaches the lost with the same message through others and they feel ...

It Was Children’s Day At Grace Children’s Home – Nov. 14, 2020

Saturday, November 14 was Children's Day in India.  Children's Day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children.  It is celebrated every year on 14th of November as a tribute to India's First Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Fondly known as Chacha (uncle) Nehru among children, he advocated for children to have fulfilled a education.   At Grace Children's Home the children did their exercises and then celebrated by eating cake.   Other photos taken last Wednesday show the children lining up and receiving their food.                      ...

Ten New Converts Baptized!

It's evident that God is doing a great work in India.   It may have something to do with the pandemic and reminding people we are not guaranteed a tomorrow.  In times like this people regard eternity and how they would be judged should they pass away.  They have questions that religions cannot answer satisfactorily.   But when they learn about our Lord and that He wants to have a personal relationship with us, how He died for the remission of our sins, and how He would have done it for only you or me if we were the only people on ...

Seven New Converts Receive Their First Bible

In the last post we told about seven Hindu women who received Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Later they were baptized in water.   An offering was received to buy Bibles for them and today Rev. Cornelius sent us the photos below.  As you can see by their faces they feel very blessed.   Two men are in the photo so we assume they were husbands of the other two women or were going to deliver the Bibles to the others.   There are many more people without Bibles.  One Bible costs about $4.  Please consider giving to this cause.   Thank you!   ...

Seven New Names In The Lamb’s Book of Life!

We received word from Pastor Cornelius that seven Hindu women have received Jesus as Lord and Savior.  The women were previously devout idol worshipers, that is until they met Jesus.   It is very difficult to witness in India and especially to those of the Hindu religion.   In many places in India a person is taking their life into their hands by evangelizing to the lost.   But with God, nothing is impossible! Rev. Cornelius also emphasized a need for Bibles to give to these new converts.   One Bible costs $4.  Please consider giving for this need.   See the link to ...

Feeding The Widows in India – October 30, 2020

The other day I asked Rev. Cornelius in India to begin sending us photos of his everyday activities and include some of Grace Children's Home.   So, today we received the following photos.    But the first photo needs a little bit of description.  The first photo was taken a few months ago before the Covid-19 pandemic.   Cornelius would travel to the most remote areas where there was no electricity, no sewers, doctors or hospitals and preach the Gospel to the Dalits, the lowest of the classes of people in India.   Since the pandemic his traveling to preach has diminished except ...

Caring For The Hungry In India – October 2020

Pastor Cornelius in India recently sent us the photos below of village children, widows and pastors who are hurting because of the pandemic.   Pastor Cornelius was able to provide food and hygienic items to village children.  He also gave food to the widows and some pastors.   India is 2nd in the world for the highest number of Covid-19 cases.  America being no. 1.   The biggest difference between the two is there is no government assistance to those who are unable to work, widows, etc., especially to these people who are of the lowest class in that nation.          ...

Three Widows Walk 5 Miles for Food

We just received word from Rev. Cornelius in India that three widows showed up at his door asking for food.  They heard that he was helping others and so they walked five miles and back for a little rice.   This is the reality of suffering brought on by Covid-19.   In normal time widows usually depend on their children, other family members and/or friends to survive.  Now that people are not able to work it is causing many hardships, especially widows and children.   James 1: 7, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless ...

Feeding the Hungry in India – July 2020

The Covid-19 situation in India is not getting any better.   So many people are in lockdown and unable to work to provide for their families.  Pastors and their families are starving because church services are cancelled and no tithes or offerings are coming in, which is their only source of income.    This ministry supports Rev. Sikila Cornelius and his orphanage but the support we send to him also goes to help feed the needy.  We were blessed to learn that because of offerings we have received for India in July, Rev. Cornelius was not only able to feed the ...

India – School Supplies Provided for 172 Children!

Thanks to the generosity and compassion of others, we were able to give Rev. Cornelius in India funds to purchase school supplies for 172 children.   The children are Dalits and about half of them are orphans living at Grace Children's Home. Below are photos of the supplies and Rev. Cornelius and wife, Theresa, giving out the materials to some very happy children.   Many thanks to those who contributed to this cause.                                 ...

Feeding The Hungry In India – June 17, 2020

The Covid-19 virus is spreading in India and especially in the area around Grace Children's Home.   Reverend Cornelius reports that conditions are getting worse by the day.  So many people are without food.  We were blessed recently to be able to send $150 to Rev. Cornelius to purchase food for the Children's Home and help others as much as possible.   Besides feeding the children at the home, Cornelius said there were funds left over so he was also able to give loaves of bread to 100 Dalit children.   Below are photos showing how blessed everyone was to receive food.  One widow ...

Helping to Feed the Hungry in India – May 2020

Rev. Dinesh and his son, Raj (Not their real names because of persecution of Christians in their area) continue to be very active in evangelizing, praying for the sick and feeding the hungry in their part of India.  We are very blessed to be able to be a small part in their ministry by supporting them each month.  We are amazed at elderly Reverend Dinesh who at his late age, thinks nothing of walking many miles to evangelize the lost.   Accompanied by his son, Raj, and led by the Holy Spirit, they minister to hundreds of people without a vehicle, ...

Feeding The Children – India – May 18, 2020

On May 18, 2020 Reverend Sikila Cornelius was able to visit a remote village where people are suffering from the Covid-19 lockdown and unable to work.  Food is very scarce so Rev. Cornelius took enough bread and snacks with him to bless 80 children.   In the photos below you can see the faces of the children who all seem to be a bit amazed or bewildered, at such a blessing. "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."  James 1:27   ...

Feeding The Hungry – May 11, 2020

We were blessed to receive word from Rev. Cornelius in India that through the funds given to him by this ministry, he was able to share it with a fellow pastor who purchased food and took it to the slums to feed the hungry.   As you can see by the photos, most of those being fed are children.  Thank you so very much for giving!   Matthew 25:40 says, " . . . . Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." And ...

Feeding The Hungry Of India – May 6, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown continues in India the people who live in remote villages are suffering to the point of starvation.  Sadly, some have been reduced to even eating ants.   One woman told Rev. Cornelius that her daughter was hungry and crying so she was cooking stones just to make her daughter think she was cooking something to eat.   It just shows how desperate these people are. Rev. Cornelius and volunteers traveled to one of those villages inhabited by Dalits who are unable to work and through the offerings given to this ministry, they were able to hand out ...

Feeding the Hungry – May 4, 2020

Because of the COVID-19 Virus the situation in India has not improved and many are starving and crying out for help.   We are doing what we can through the offerings given to this ministry to feed as many as possible.   Below are photos recently sent to us of volunteers who have bagged food and giving it to the poor who are mostly Dalits, or untouchables.    Please consider giving at least a little bit.  Just forty cents can provide food for one day for one person.             ...

Bananas and Bread for the Hungry – April 26, 2020

What will 39 cents do?   A lot, in India that is.   Thanks to the offerings received by Covenant Messenger Ministries to feed the hungry, 150 children and 50 widows were recently blessed during the ongoing lock-down in India. Each person received 2 bananas and a small loaf of bread at the cost of 30 rupees (39 cents) per person.  Believe it or not, these items were rare treats for these people. The children are either orphans or from parents who cannot afford to feed their families and of course, the widows depend on family and charity for their existence. We ...
