Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”.
Many years ago the Lord blessed Julie and me with the ministry in Ghana, West Africa. We sent them Bibles, Gospel tracts, videos, cassettes, books, and curriculum for Bible schools. We were so grateful for the amazing outcomes from the evangelism team and pastors who dedicated their time to bring people to the Kingdom of Heaven.
The Covenant Messenger Ministries Bible schools produced large numbers of graduates, many of whom were commissioned to serve in the ministry of the Lord. The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted students’ ability to gather together, leading to the closure of most schools. Nevertheless, they are gradually resuming normal operations.
The evangelism team has consistently visited areas in Ghana that desperately need spiritual insight and true salvation. Just this past year the team has sown nearly 10,000 tracts and reaped 2422 new souls for the Lord plus 380 people who re-dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ.
As stated at the beginning, there is a time for everything. As the Lord wills, we will continue with the ministry but focus on supporting Grace Children’s Home and evangelism to the Dalits in India. However, Julie and I are in our mid-eighties and we feel at this particular time the Lord is leading us to pass the Ghana ministry on to some dear friends of ours, Paula Smith, David, and Stacey Limerick of Holy Spirit Ministries, Int’l., Claremore, Oklahoma.
Holy Spirit Ministries International was founded several years ago by the late Dr. Jerry Smith and his wife, Paula. I was first introduced to Jerry through a pastor in Romania who served as an interpreter during Jerry’s ministry work there. After Jerry’s return to the U.S., he called me and that became the beginning of a long-lasting friendship. Eventually, we asked Jerry to lead the Bible schools in Ghana, and he kindly agreed. He and Paula would visit annually to oversee graduation and ordination ceremonies. The people of Ghana loved Jerry and Paula and always looked forward to their visits. After Jerry passed away, Paula took over the ministry with assistance from David and Stacey. (Stacey is the daughter of Jerry and his wife, Paula).
This past summer Paula, David, and Stacey came to visit us and it was at that time, that we asked if they would be willing to take over the Ghana ministry. After a time of seeking the Lord, they agreed to do it. We feel honored that they accepted and very blessed to be able to entrust that part of our ministry to them and Holy Spirit Ministries, Int’l.
Here is a little background of David and Stacey:
David Limerick was born in Meridian, MS, and raised in the small town of Quitman. After completing high school, he attended Mississippi State University, graduating with a BS in Business Administration. After college, he felt directed to attend RHEMA Bible Training Center. He graduated from RHEMA in 1992 and subsequently chartered Holy Spirit Ministries International, traveling across the US and into many foreign nations. He received his ordination from RHEMA in 1994.
Stacey Limerick was born and raised in Claremore, OK. Upon completing high school she attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, graduating summa cum laude with a BS in Business Administration. After college, she went on to be an accomplished businesswoman whose strengths included troubleshooting, team building, and leadership. From the time she was born again at the age of 13, she had a desire to be actively involved in vocational ministry.
Stacey and David met in 1996, married in 1998, and began traveling together in full-time ministry—leading music, speaking in churches and conferences, praying with people, operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, evangelizing and encouraging people to be all that God has called them to be. In 2000 they decided to move to McKinney, TX to help pioneer New Covenant Church as praise and worship leaders and associate pastors. In 2005 they became Senior Pastors and parents to their twins, Kyle and Kristin!
In the Fall of 2008, David and Stacey expanded their vision to include the opening of a financial services company and insurance agency. Today they live in Claremore, OK, and are both ministers and business owners, with one of their main focuses being the evangelism and bible schools operating in Ghana Africa.
