Recently, I have begun a series of teachings on God’s covenants. It is my belief that with an understanding of the true significance of the covenants in the Bible, a Christian will gain a new perception of the Word and even develop a closer relationship with God. I speak from experience because that happened to me many years ago. That is also the reason I named our ministry Covenant Messenger Ministries because I realized covenants were the foundation of the Bible with some having been fulfilled and others yet to be fulfilled.
Here is my reasoning: Malachi 3:1 says this,
“Behold, I send My messenger,
And he will prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, He is coming,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
The first “messenger” mentioned is John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus by proclaiming the need for repentance.
The second Messenger of course is the Lord. The 5th line in Malachi 1:1 states . . . “even the messenger of the covenant”.
Jesus was the second “messenger”, coming to earth with the Good News of God’s love and mercy through a new covenant. Jesus was a Messenger of that new covenant. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, opened the way to heaven for anyone with faith in Him. When Jesus ascended to heaven His command to His disciples was to carry that same message throughout the world.
All born-again Christians become messengers, telling others what the Son of God, Jesus, did for them by dying on the cross, rising from the grave and is now at the right Hand of God, the Father.
My series on the various covenants begin with an introduction and will continue from there as the Lord leads. Below are the links to the series on Youtube. Please excuse the various formats as some may seem very amateurish as I’m new to this but with the help of the Holy Spirit, I am hoping to improve with each one. God bless!
