Happy New Year from the Covenant Messenger Ministry Outreach Team- David, Michael, Matthew, and John. The team is excited for the upcoming year and eager to see what God will do in the lives and hearts of the people in Africa. Their theme word for the year is EVANGELISM.

So, what is evangelism anyway?

According to the dictionary, evangelism is: the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness; zealous advocacy of a cause.

This word has earned an interesting reputation here in the United States. Some of us may picture Billy Graham, a simple preacher who impacted the world for Jesus including presidential leaders. Others may remember our own experiences with evangelists coming to preach the Gospel in our churches, on the streets, or at conferences. We may think about the television evangelists and turn up our noses or applaud their efforts. Whatever your experience with evangelism, we know from Scripture that the work of an evangelist is necessary for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ into all the world and building His Kingdom.

¹¹ So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, ¹² to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…” Ephesians 4:11-12

The C.M.M. team members are evangelists, following Jesus’ command to go into the world and preach the Gospel, baptizing them, and making disciples. This job is often difficult and tiring, but how the Lord works each and every time fuels the work of this team- David, Michael, Matthew, and John.

The team traveled to Aperade in the Eastern Region, approximately four hours from the home office of Accra, on January 10, 2020. They stayed for two days preaching the Gospel in the Akan language, sharing 300 tracts, and by the goodness and grace of the Lord, 72 new people were born again! Among those saved were two Muslims and one Juju priest.

We rejoice with the angels and praise God for His powerful work in the lives of these 72 people. We believe that many seeds were planted. Would you join in prayer with us for the people of Aperade? Would you ask the Holy Spirit to do a deep work in the hearts of these new believers? Would you consider praying for the outreach team for refreshing, blessing, and perseverance? Please pray for those who heard the Gospel- that the seed planted would be watered by other believers and that they, too, would give their lives to Jesus Christ.

Father in Heaven,

   You are so good and Your Arm is not too short to save. We are thankful for willing servants like David, Matthew, John, and Michael. Thank You for how You are working in and through their lives. We ask, Holy Spirit,  for you to refresh, grow, and protect them and their families from evil.  We lift up the people of Aperade, Father.  Continue to work in the lives of these people and bring many, many more into Your Kingdom.  We ask for others to be raised up in the region of Aperade to make an impact for You, Jesus.  Transform this region and this people that this place would be like a spark of fire that ignites others to go and preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ Who saves us from sin and death and brings us into a covenant relationship with You.   Thank You, Father.  In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
