The orphans at Grace Children’s Home are doing well and as you can see by these photos, it was feeding time at the home.
James 1:27 says, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” (New Living Translation)
In his epistle, James is making it clear that in God’s Eyes true religion is putting aside your own interests and caring for those unable to care for themselves. In other words, “self” is either controlling you or you are in control of self. That is part of the sanctification process that every Christian must go through.
You see, when you are first born-again, you are immediately sanctified, or set apart from sin and its control. But that isn’t the last of it because “self” must come under control by the Spirit of God and that doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time. It takes time praying, time in reading the Word of God and putting it into practice. It takes time in getting to know God. It takes time for the newborn spirit man within to overcome the will of the flesh which is accustomed to being pleased in every way possible. When we are saved we make Jesus our Lord and Savior. The Savior part comes when you accept Him. But having Him be Lord over you takes time as we learn and grow in Him.
Please consider giving this month towards feeding the orphans. They don’t ask for much but rice and a little curry with vegetables but even better if meat or chicken can be added. It costs about $9 per day to feed and care for just one child. There are over 40 orphans to feed per day which comes to $360. We may not be able to contribute all of that amount but anything will help and may even mean some meat or chicken in the next meal!
Thanks for your consideration and prayers. Below are photos of yesterday’s feeding time.
